Let Me Sleep

About

About Let Me Sleep, and how we write

A sleep coach app for people who can't switch off, made by a small independent team that would rather be useful than loud.

What Let Me Sleep is

Let Me Sleep is a sleep coach app for iPhone and Android. A short quiz builds a personal 6-week plan based on the principles of CBT-I (cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia): a steady sleep window, a wind-down checklist, one five-minute lesson a day and calm tools for the middle of the night. It also includes bedtime yoga, breathing practices and sleep sounds, with companion apps for Apple Watch and Wear OS.

It's free to download on the App Store and Google Play. Get the app.

What it isn't

Let Me Sleep is a wellness app. It doesn't diagnose, treat or cure any condition, it isn't a medical device, and it hasn't been through clinical trials. It's not a replacement for a doctor or a CBT-I therapist. If you have long-term insomnia, loud snoring, pauses in breathing or strong daytime sleepiness, please see a doctor.

Who makes it

Let Me Sleep is built by a small independent team. We're not funded by a supplement company or a mattress brand, we don't run ads, and we don't sell data. The app is paid for by an optional subscription.

How we write and check our guides

Sleep is a health topic, and bad sleep advice can make people's nights worse. So these are the rules we hold ourselves to:

  • Sources first. We base our guides on clinical guidelines (for example from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American College of Physicians and NICE), public health bodies like the U.S. National Institutes of Health, and peer-reviewed research. Every guide lists its sources at the end.
  • Say how strong the evidence is. When the research is thin or mixed, as it is for noise machines and some relaxation techniques, we say so plainly instead of rounding up.
  • Wellness language only. We don't claim that anything on this site or in the app treats or cures a condition, and we never promise specific results.
  • Know when to send people to a doctor. Every guide includes the signs that something needs medical attention.
  • No affiliate links or sponsored content. Nobody pays to be mentioned. When a free resource, like the VA's Insomnia Coach app, is a good option, we say so.
  • Keep it current. Each guide shows the date it was last updated, and we review them when new research or guidelines come out.

Clinical review

Our guides and the app's program are written by our team from the sources listed. They have not yet been reviewed by a sleep clinician. We're looking for a qualified sleep specialist to review the program and these guides, and we'll name them here when that happens.

Corrections and contact

If you spot a mistake, an out-of-date fact or something unclear, email surajpsp@gmail.com. We'll check it against the sources, fix it if we got it wrong, and update the date on the page.
